Photoshop
1. I photoshopped this picture by getting a brick and putting a phone on top of it to symbolize how my first phone was like a brick. It was so sturdy compared to phones nowadays. The picture was needed in my blog because I wanted to show readers how sturdy my phone was which aligned with my text.
2. This was my first ever photoshopped picture that I did in class when the guest speaker came in to teach us about Photoshop. I got lucky that this photoshopped worked well with my digital literacy narrative because it enhances the fact that I always had this phone with me and enhanced that it got me into trouble when I would use it during class time and when I was supposed to do my homework. It sets the tone that my mother didn't like when I would use my phone during homework time. I photoshopped my first phone and applied to a desk.
3. This photoshopped picture definitely required more work and effort than the previous two photoshopped pictures. I was looking through old pictures from when my sister and I was in 8th grade. All of the pictures were either way too embarrassing (tried to hide our brace face) or it just wasn't clear enough. I came across this one since it was perfect and no braces :p I wanted to choose an authentic picture from that time to show readers how we looked like at that time. The purpose of this picture was to show that we tried to act civil in front of our mother at first but you can see in my thinking bubble that I was clearly upset at my sister, Jessica. I did this by photoshopped a thinking bubble over my head and including a text box of my thoughts inside.
4. This photo was intended to show my readers that everyone view us as a unit. We weren't view as individuals. Since we shared a phone, no one was able to just write our own name but they put that instead. I photoshopped this by deleting the name that was already there and including a text box that said "Molinaro Twins".
5. This photoshopped picture was edited by finding a picture of twins fighting. Originally the picture had a different item in the center that they were fighting over. I edited this by erasing that item and including a picture of the first phone. This photo was intended to help readers understand that hatred and chaos that this first phone caused us. We would always fight over the fight so this picture perfectly portrayed this.
6.This photo is a picture of an ear (symbolizing hearing and sound) and then I photoshopped an X over it to show that there was no hearing. This picture was intended to help readers understand that when I told Jess “Text mom so she knows we are hanging out with Jacqueline”, it showed that Jessica didn't hear this statement. This was the cause of the problem.
7.The picture was photoshopped because I wanted to show readers that back then, children didn't play with video games as often and they played outside. In my digital literacy narrative, I explained how my friend, sister, and I played outside which I find shocking considering that children play with iPads, Xbox, etc all the time. I photoshopped this picture by showing the popular technogly and gaming systems in today's society such as the Wii and the Playstation and photoshopped a thumbs down to symbolize that me and my friend didn't want to play with video games. Playing outside is better and we made a good decison.
8.This photo shows a woman holding a microphone with an angry look on her face screaming "Give me your phone!". I photoshopped this photo by choosing an angry loud lady that and added a speak bubble with a text box inside. This photo was intended to help readers understand and visualize the anger that my mom had and the loudness.
9. This photo was intended to show readers what I said to Jacqueline, my friend, on AIM which is an Instant Messenger. This is after I got my phone taken away. I photoshopped this picture by choosing a picture with the AIM layout. I added a text box that said "Hey Jacqueline! Im sorry about before. My mom didn't know I was over and she took out phone away." This showed my anxiety and embarrassment because I had to message Jacqueline to explain. This picture was a perfect way to incorporate a visual in the text instead of simply stating what was written to her.
10. I photoshopped this picture to show my viewers how my screen would have looked receiving those 10 missed calls from my mom. I added a text box that said 10 missed calls. In addition, I add a Bitmogi to add a modern touch to this old phone to show the readers what I thought it my head as I looked at my screen. "Cray Cray" means crazy in a slang term. This photo was intended to enhance the writing by having a visual to when my mom was angry and kept calling the cell phone.
